How we vet every caregiver
Trust is the foundation of home care. Before any caregiver can be booked on Caregiver Express, they must clear a rigorous, documented vetting process — and keep their credentials current.
Required for every caregiver
No exceptions. Each item is verified by our team before a profile goes live.
Criminal background check
A comprehensive criminal record check that must be no more than 3 months old, including a vulnerable-population screening component. We re-verify on a regular cadence so it never goes stale.

Current CPR & First-Aid
A valid, current CPR and First-Aid certification from an accredited institution. Expired certifications must be renewed before bookings can continue.

Government photo ID
A valid, government-issued photo ID. We verify identity and match it against every other document submitted to ensure the person is who they say they are.

Caregivers can go further. Verified additional credentials unlock badges that help families find exactly the expertise they need.
Home Support badge
Caregivers who submit and verify recognized home-support credentials earn the Home Support badge — a clear signal of specialized training in personal and in-home care.
Other Credentials path
Have a certification we haven’t listed? Submit it through the “Other Credentials” path. Our team reviews each one and, where appropriate, surfaces it on your profile so families can see your full expertise.

Vetting doesn’t stop at approval
Most marketplaces check a caregiver once. We keep that trust current with continuous monitoring: every active caregiver is re-screened annually, and any new record that surfaces between rescreens routes straight to our review team. If something needs a closer look, the caregiver’s bookings pause automatically until our coordinators clear it — so the people in your home are verified today, not just on the day they joined.
